Powered Paragliding - Washington State
A tandem paramotor flight is the most direct way to experience powered paragliding before committing to a full training program. You fly side-by-side with a certified instructor on a two-seat paramotor - no experience needed, no prerequisite coursework. You show up, get a ground briefing, and go fly.
This is not a sightseeing attraction. It is the first step in understanding the sport from the inside. You will feel the launch run, the climb out, the throttle response, and the descent - all with an instructor managing the motor and wing alongside you. After landing, you will know exactly what paramotor training involves because you will have just done a version of it.
Flights last approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on conditions and take place at our Washington State locations - selected the morning of your flight based on wind and weather. Most passengers who fly sign up for the full PPG Pilot Training course within the week.
A tandem flight uses the same equipment and procedures as a full training course. You are not in a simulator or a theme park ride - you are flying a real paramotor in real airspace with a real instructor.
The instructor operates the paramotor and controls the wing entirely. Your role is to experience everything the sport offers without carrying any of the responsibility for the flight. If you want to take the controls briefly in the air, you can - but there is no pressure to.
If you decide to enroll in the PPG Pilot Training program within 30 days of your flight, the full tandem flight fee applies toward your tuition. You are not paying twice - the intro flight is the beginning of the process, not separate from it.
Give the experience to someone else. Gift certificates are available for the tandem flight and are redeemable at any of our Washington State locations. If the recipient enrolls in training, the same tuition credit applies.
Day Before
We confirm the flying site the morning of your appointment based on wind and weather conditions. You will receive a message by 8am with the location and any updated instructions. Dress in comfortable clothes you can run in, and wear closed-toe shoes. We handle everything else.
On Arrival
When you arrive your instructor walks you through the equipment: the motor, the wing, the harness, and how they work together. We cover what a launch run feels like, what to do with your feet, what you will hear and feel in the air, and how the landing works. No question is too basic.
The Launch
Launch is a run into the wind with the wing inflated overhead. The instructor manages the throttle and the wing - your job is to keep your legs moving until they leave the ground. The transition from running to flying happens faster than most people expect and feels more natural than it sounds.
In the Air
Once airborne the instructor throttles back and you cruise over the Washington landscape at a comfortable altitude. Communication is via radio headset throughout the flight. You can take brief control of the wing if you are curious - or just take it in. The silence at cruise is something most first-time passengers do not anticipate.
The Landing
Landings are slow and smooth. After touchdown your instructor debriefs the flight, answers questions, and walks you through what a full 10-day PPG Pilot Training program would look like if you want to continue. There is no pitch. If you are not ready to commit, that is a valid outcome. Most people want to keep going.

A tandem paramotor flight is a gift that is genuinely hard to forget. Gift certificates are available for the full intro flight and are redeemable at any of our Washington State locations. If the recipient decides to enroll in the PPG Pilot Training program, the same tuition credit applies.
Gift certificates are valid for 12 months from purchase. The recipient can choose their date and location when they are ready to use it.
If the recipient decides to enroll in the full PPG Pilot Training course, the intro flight cost applies toward their tuition. The gift gets them into the sport.
We send a printable gift certificate to you or directly to the recipient with a personal message if provided. Delivery within one business day of purchase.
Apply Your Flight Cost to Training
If you fly a tandem intro flight and decide to enroll in the full PPG Pilot Training program within 30 days, the full cost of the intro flight is applied toward your tuition. You do not pay twice.
This is not a marketing incentive - it reflects how we think about the intro flight. It is the first session of your training, not a separate product. The ground brief, the flight, and the debrief all cover material that directly prepares you for the full course. Treating it as a separate expense made no sense.
The same credit applies to gift certificate recipients who enroll after using their certificate.

"I had no idea what to expect. The instructor walked me through everything on the ground and the flight itself was incredible - completely different from anything I have experienced. I enrolled in the full program two days later."
Marcus T., Everett, WA

"Bought this as a gift for my husband and he came home a completely different person. Called me from the field and said he was signing up for the full course. The tandem cost came off his tuition which I did not expect - great detail."

"I was nervous about the weight limit and contacted them before booking. They were completely straightforward about it - no awkward conversation. The flight went perfectly and the debrief was honest about what full training involves."

Tandem Flight
Yes. On a tandem flight the instructor operates every aspect of the aircraft. You are a participant, not a pilot. We have flown hundreds of first-timers across a wide range of ages and fitness levels. The ground briefing covers everything you need to know before you run.
260 lbs. This is a firm equipment limit. If you are close to that number, contact us before booking - we will confirm directly rather than have the conversation at the field. We would rather sort it out in advance.
We reschedule at no charge. Washington weather requires flexibility. We watch conditions closely and will give you as much notice as possible - ideally the evening before or first thing in the morning. You keep your booking until we find a day that works.
Yes. Spectators are welcome at the launch field. We share the site address when we confirm the location the morning of your flight. There is room to watch, take photos, and cheer from the field.
We recommend at least two weeks during spring and summer when we are busiest. Fall and early spring are easier to get on short notice. We can sometimes accommodate requests within a week, but popular dates fill up. The sooner you reach out the more options we have.
Enroll in the full PPG Pilot Training program within 30 days of your tandem flight and the full intro flight fee is credited against tuition. You do not need to do anything special - we track it internally. Just mention your tandem flight date when you contact us to sign up.
Yes. Certificates are valid for 12 months, which gives the recipient plenty of time to pick their date. If they decide the sport is not for them, contact us and we will work something out. We are not in the business of holding onto money for experiences that did not happen.
The tandem flight uses the same equipment and launch procedures. The key difference is that in training you solo fly - on a tandem the instructor is flying with you. The ground brief, the launch feel, the flight experience, and the debrief all map directly to what early training days involve. That is the point of doing it first.
One flight is enough to know. Book a tandem intro flight or give one as a gift - and if you decide to train, the cost you paid today comes off your tuition.
